Gladstone Hotel says... Gladstone Hotel - one of National Geographic Traveler's most loved hotels - most authentic, most sustainable and most memorable!
The Gladstone Hotel is a unique urban hotel providing both travelers and Torontonians with a truly authentic experience of local... More creative culture. Visitors can experience the comforts of the hotel's thirty-seven artist-designed guest rooms, attend art related, social, or corporate events held in their versatile venues, eat and drink in our Ballroom Café and Melody Bar and then step out into the heart of the city's vibrant art and design neighbourhood.
Ballroom Café:
The relaxed atmosphere and delicious, fresh food have quickly established the hotel's café as a place to meet with friends, visit with their friendly staff or just sit back and watch the world go by through the Gladstone's glorious Victorian windows. Chef Marc Breton and his staff offer a menu of classic Canadian favourites and tempting daily specials with a focus on local, fair trade, and organic ingredients. Free WIFI access.
Melody Bar:
Recently touted as one of the top ten bars in the world (Conde Nast May 2007), the Gladstone's Melody Bar has been rockin the hood since 1889. The Melody Bar is a handsome beverage bar with nightly entertainment and no cover. Lively crowds enjoy bands, local DJ talents and weekly karaoke, Thursday through Saturday. Arguably the best and one of the most affordable burgers on Queen West can be found as just one of the delicious offerings on the menu. The Melody Bar also offers the same delicious brunch menu as the Gladstone Ballroom Café on Saturdays and Sundays. Drink prices are reasonable and weekend lineups are to be expected.
"Everyone's a star at the Gladstone. From the frat boys doing an ironic cover of Helen Reddy's I Am Woman on the Queen West hotel's weekend karaoke stage to the Barenaked Lady having breakfast in the cafe just off the lobby, they all get their moment in the spotlight.?Proud of its history, the Gladstone proves that the old Queen West scene is still alive and kicking."
Now Toronto, The Goods, June 7, 2007
?Sunny, with high ceilings and warm brick walls, this restaurant inside the
artistic Gladstone Hotel merits the short trip west of downtown. It offers
well-spaced tables, free Wi-Fi access and one of Toronto's best lattes.?
Economist.com 06.11.07
?The (Gladstone) Caf?ffers small but excellent breakfast and lunch menus.
I had the tofu scramble both mornings because it was so delicious!?
Peg Mack, Halifax, Trip Advisor "Glad I chose the Gladstone" 08.09.06
"The Gladstone offers immediate immersion into Toronto's art scene."
New York Times, July 23, 2006
"If you are looking for the anti-chain-hotel Toronto experience this should be your next stop." Globe and Mail, April 1, 2006
