The crowded Ossington original gets reinvented in a roomier space on the Danforth. The focal point of the place is, natch, the superstar wood-burning oven, whence comes a thrilling parade of done-to-perfection pizza pies. Old-hat pepperoni and green pepper watch from the wings as creative toppings like duck confit, white anchovy and grilled eggplant take centre stage. Still, the no-frills miracle that is a margherita pie is a minor miracle at this exceptional spot. Unlike its predecessor, the Danforth location — mercifully, for weary Toronto diners — takes reservations. Fans praise the excellent service here as passionately as they do the pizza. Prices are reasonable.
