Palace Restaurant

Many immigrants have come to Canada with a dream in their soul and determination in their hearts. Peter Hatzis came from Greece with nothing. He started working in the kitchen as a dishwasher. One day he told everyone he would build a palace.

The Palace Restaurant on Pape is made up of dreams and kindness. Appetizers are plentiful and authentic. The Dolmadakia is ground beef and rice, rolled in grape leaves. Each bite of this delicacy screams more please! Saganaki arrives at your table flaming. This is the real thing. Kefalotyri cheese pan fried and then flambéed. If you love Kalamari, and I do, the Kalamari here is one of the finest in the city. Next it's on to their famous Greek Salad, This one comes directly from Greece with the freshness of a summer garden.

Fish is one of their finest items and the choice is always difficult. You get to choose from Tilapia to Salmon and Orange Roughy, Sea Bass and Red Snapper. Each dish has the freshness of the sea and is grilled to perfection. Mousaka is a must if you want to escape your taste buds. No wonder Greek villagers never left home with tastes like this.

Two house specialties are the stuffed lamb and stuffed chicken. Each dish offers great flavour and two unique tastes. One thing about the Palace is they know how to cook lamb. The roast lamb will make you want to take up permanent residency here.

The décor of the Palace makes you feel at home. From the moment when Peter greets and hugs you, life is better. Then his son takes over more love.
