About
The looks of this restaurant utterly belie the quality of the food within. A great steak at a bargain price, as well as fresh baked goods and a diner's staple menu. The Tulip's got such a relaxed atmosphere that it is suggested that suits and ties stay at home....

Review: A love affair with the Tulip

What do eighteen wheeler truckers and Rosedale matrons have in common? Each has a love affair with the Tulip Restaurant. Many things make the Tulip so special. It is their world class steaks and all day breakfast. We are also talking world class reasonable prices. Two eggs...
What do eighteen wheeler truckers and Rosedale matrons have in common? Each has a love affair with the Tulip Restaurant. Many things make the Tulip so special. It is their world class steaks and all day breakfast. We are also talking world class reasonable prices. Two eggs with ham, sausage or bacon for $4.65. The potatoes are cut fresh.

You probably will devour every single crumb...my that's good. Steaks seem to be on a lot of people's minds and plates. You can get a sirloin steak 12 oz for $15.95. If you prefer porter house, 22 - 24 oz for $25.75.

Each steak is cut on the premises. David Lui an his wife Sheila started this restaurant over twenty eight years ago and this is still a family restaurant. Sheila still makes al the pies. When she says homemade, she's very serious.

The daily specials seem to drive this restaurant to capacity each night. Monday night is roast beef for $7.95. The cooks are never shy with their portions. Tuesday happens to be corned beef and cabbage night. Even the Irish bring their mothers. Friday night is Shepherd's pie for $7.95.

I love to go to the Tulip on Saturday mornings. I always sit at the counter and watch. Paulina Lui is on the grill. She was a waitress now she is super woman and Dave's daughter in law.

It is nice to go to a place where people say hello. When you leave you are planning your next visit. Tulip, thanks for taking care of so many hungry people, making each and every one feel special.
